Programs

Aytan Adler’s innovative and integrative programs engage seniors at different functional levels — in many kinds of settings. Through unique activities he designs, he makes meaningful, immediate contact with older adults that enhances their physical, social, and cognitive abilities.

Some of his many programs include:

Law and Order — The Law and Order program is based on re-enactments and transcripts of actual cases in which participants assume different roles in a courtroom trial setting. Seniors become witnesses, district attorney, defense counsel or even the judge. It evokes memories of past episodes of Perry Mason and Matlock. Seniors love it because it is so interactive and entertaining.

American Chronicles — Interactive dialogues that encourage reminiscing about different decades in U.S. history; particularly effective for residents with varying degrees of memory loss.

Championship Football Series — Recap of weekly games designed to engage elusive senior citizens (often male) who enjoy analyzing and forecasting weekly NFL games.

Hooray for Hollywood — Discussion groups on “Golden Age” stars, movie anecdotes and memorable movie moments that evoke cherished memories for older clients.

World of Our Fathers — Reading actual letters from Jewish immigrants that evoke the challenges and triumphs of anyone whose parents came from a different culture.

Our Yankee Heritage — Interactive conversations about the glorious history of Yankee Stadium, the iconic players, and the great events that took place there — all in the context of New York life over the last eight decades.

Crime Pays — Thrilling tales of fraud, kickbacks, forgery, insider trading and more.

The Roundtable — A creative way to encourage individual interaction in group situations.
